The 2007-08 season is the 13th season we've been on the Web, believe it or not. Our group has been running the site for 11 seasons. That's a long time in Internet years. We've been committed to Division III basketball for a mighty long time. We were called Division III Basketball Online for the first four seasons. We chose our new name, D3hoops.com, on July 10, 1999, to match our partner site, D3football.com, launched the same month. The site has been featured in Sports Illustrated, ESPN Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, the Hartford Courant and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, among other publications. Our experts have been used by CSTV and clips of our broadcasts have been on ESPN.
Pat Coleman, the editor and publisher of D3hoops.com and D3football.com, has been publishing information on the Internet since 1994 and has served as Sports Information Director at Catholic and Gallaudet in Washington, D.C., and the Capital Athletic Conference. Coleman graduated from Catholic in 1994 with a degree in Spanish for International Service and is Sports Editor for the Verizon Central Newsroom after a stint as copy desk chief at NBCSports.com and more than a decade working for USA Today. Coleman, 34, is married to Catherine Brennan Coleman. They have a daughter, Elizabeth, born in November 1997. A son, Robert, was born in June 2002. A second daughter, Colleen, was born in April 2005. The current logo, design and color scheme was provided by Martin Wondergem and implemented in October 2000. D3hoops.com is virtually hosted by Skiltech Web Design at www.d3hoops.com. Gallaudet University Athletics hosted the site from early December 1997 until mid-February 1998, for which we thank them. Special thanks also to John Skilton of Skiltech, whose design and server expertise helps make this site possible. The site was originally conceived and maintained by Steve Ulrich of the Centennial Conference before we took it over on Dec. 4, 1997. We reached our one millionth visitor since that launch on Jan. 21, 2000, and got to 1.5 million shortly thereafter. We've since gotten so high on the hit counter that we no longer track half-million milestones. Key contributors to D3hoops.com include:
