LISLE, Ill. — The Benedictine University men's basketball team notched its third-consecutive victory with a 59-42 Northern Athletics Conference win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College. The Eagles improved to 7-6 overall and 5-1 in the NAC, while the Crusaders fell to 3-9 on the year and an 0-7 mark in conference play.

Junior Tim Swanson led Benedictine's assault on the pesky MBBC team, which managed to stay within 10 points of the Eagles until miday through the second half. Swanson hit nine-of-16 from the field on his way to a game-leading 20 points. He also had six rebounds.

The only other Eagle in double-digit scoring was sophomore guard Jared Bailey, who chipped in 18 points. Bailey also had four assists and four steals.

Travis Wilson, a 6'0" guard led his team in rebounding for the third time in the last four games, grabbing eight caroms. Rob Bridgeman added seven rebounds.

Only one Crusader managed to tally in double figures. Micah Pfaffe had 13 points, hitting five-of-11 from the field.

MBBC's Mike Knepp had eight points and eight rebounds. Jim Stevens contributed nine points and seven rebounds - blocking five shots - in his team's losing effort.
