Bobby Bailey (Fall River, MA) and Kinsey Durgin (Greenwood, ME) added 12 points apiece while Brian Stanko (Swansea, MA) contributed 11 points in the victory.
The final score was no indication of how the Anchormen, now 18-3 overall and atop the Little East Conference at 9-2, dominated the contest. They led by 26 points, 63-37 following a long three pointer by Stewart with 9:29 remaining in the game.
The Colonials chipped away their deficit over the final four minutes as both team’s reserves played out the clock.
WestConn, now 13-9 overall and 7-4 in the league, was led by Tyshawn Gillespie (Hartford, CT) who had 16 points. Gillespie was named Little East Conference Rookie of the Week for the second straight week this past Monday.
Jamie Procino (Yorktown Heights, NY) added 15 points and had a game-high seven caroms for the Colonials.
WestConn hosts Keene State College this Saturday, February 10 at 3 p.m. Rhode Island College travels to University of Southern Maine on Saturday for a double header with the Huskies.
