St. PAUL, Minn. — MIAC Women’s Basketball -- St. Thomas 90, Hamline 67

Five Toms score in double figures in women’s victory

Junior Amy Kittelson had a career-high 17 points and St. Thomas had five players score in double figures in Monday’s 90-67 MIAC women's basketball victory over Hamline at UST's Schoenecker Arena in St. Paul.

The Tommies (3-2 overall, 2-1 MIAC) shot 49% from the field (32-of-66) and had only 13 turnovers. Molly Miller had 16 points and nine rebounds, Vel Williams had 13 points and eight assists, Melissa Gotchnik had 12 points and seven assists, and Erica Opdahl chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.

Hamline (2-4, 0-3) got 31 points from Carolyn Korchik, including 7-of-7 from 3-point range and 10-of-11 overall shooting. Laura Ewert added 20 points and nine rebounds.

The Tommies led 41-29 at halftime andthe Pipers never got closer than nine in the second half.Hamline shot 40% from the field but had 21 turnovers.
