Baruch 85, CCNY 78

NEW YORK — Louie Karis scored 21 points and Cheick Fadika added 18 points & 10 rebounds to lead Baruch to their sixth consecutive victory with an 85-78 conference victory at CCNY on Thursday night.

Baruch (7-1, 3-0 CUNYAC) led 51-48 with 14:54 remaining, but went on a 17-4 run during the next six minutes for a 68-52 advantage.

CCNY fought back to cut the deficit to six points (84-78) with 55 seconds left on a three-pointer by Andre Mungin.

They also had three 3-pointer attempts down the final stretch, but could not connect as John Burzo (eight points, five rebounds) sealed the game for Baruch with one-of-two free throws with seven seconds left for the victory.

Chris Alesi dished out 11 assists and Sime Marnika scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds to give Head Coach Ray Rankis career win # 288.

James Boddie scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while teammate Darryl France added 18 points for CCNY (2-5, 0-3 CUNYAC).
