The Pipers (2-6) led by as many as eight in the second half after a Charley Good basket made the score 42-34 with 13:14 left in the contest, but St. Scholastica went on an 8-0 run over the next 1:44 to draw even.
The lead was traded five times in the next eight minutes. Hamline took a 63-62 lead on a Joe Smock basket with 4:24 left, but it would Hamline's last lead of the game.
Jackson scored on three consecutive layups to give the Saints the lead for good. The Saints were 8 of 8 from the line down the stretch to preserve the win.
The Pipers held a 24-22 lead at the break, holding the Saints to 42 percent shooting. St. Scholastica heated up in the second half, shooting 56 percent (15-27). They also made 23 of 26 free throws - all in the second half.
Hamline led 20-11 midway through the first half, sparked by an 13-3 spurt. Junior foward Greg Koba scored six of his 16 points during the run. He was 7 of 15 from the floor. He also grabbed nine rebounds.
First-year Joe Smock paced the Pipers with 17 points. Sophomore Kyle Foster added 14 points. Sophomore point guard Sam Wiener added six assists and three steals.
Jeremy Grev added 15 points for the Saints. Josh Gosar chipped in 13.
