Mississippi College 55, Austin 52

Sherman, TX — The Mississippi College Lady Choctaws took back sole possession of first place in the ASC Eastern Division with a 55-52 win at Austin College to move a half game ahead of the Lady Kangaroos.

After trailing the entire first half, the Lady Chocs used a 16-4 run midway through the second half to build a 47-43 lead. Lacey Palomarez nailed both ends of a one and one with 6.6 seconds remaining to clinch the win and avenge last week's loss to AC.

Palomarez finished with a game high 17 points to lead the Lady Choc offense. Tara Chez Britton added 13 points.

The Lady Kangaroos held a lead for much of the game despite committing a season high 33 turnovers. They were led in scoring by junior Kayla Smiley with 16. Stephanie Knudson added 12 points.
