With the win, Concordia improves to 16-4 in the league and 18-5 overall. They remain tied for third place with Gustavus, who upset league-leading St. Ben's 72-60 in St. Peter. Carleton was the other top team to fall. The Knights were handed a 19-point loss by St. Thomas in St. Paul. With the loss, Hamline slips to 5-15 in the MIAC and 5-18 overall.
The Cobbers used a quartet of players that all scored in double figures to outlast Hamline. Mandy Pearson scored 15 points, had five assists, and made six steals to lead Concordia. Annie Keeley added 13 points, Debbie Slack chipped in 11 and Tori Ehlert contributed ten points. Slack also snagged a team-high seven rebounds.
Carolyn Korchik led the Pipers in scoring for the seventh time this season. The sophomore guard scored 12 points in the first half on her way to a 19-point performance. Jess Barrett hauled in a game-high nine rebounds and added eight points.
Concordia will head south to complete a rare weekend doubleheader. The Cobbers travel to Winona to take on St. Mary's tomorrow afternoon at 1:00pm. A victory by Concordia would clinch a home playoff game in the MIAC postseason tournament.
