Central cut into the Storm lead, making it 44-38 on a pair of Ashley Nekola free throws with a little under 11 minutes to go. Simpson got the lead back up to 15 by outscoring the Dutch 16-7 over the next seven minutes. The Storm cruised from there.
Simpson was led by Meghan Kelso who posted a career high 21 points. The 5-6 senior guard from Des Moines was 7-10 from the field and 3-5 from three-point range. Amanda Pilcher scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Central was led by Jenny Randeris who had 15 points. Rachel Lenox scored 11 and had a game high five assists.
The Storm (19-7) advance to the Feb. 27 semifinals where the cagers will host #3 Wartburg, a 85-76 victor over #6 Dubuque Tuesday night. The Dutch end the season 11-15.
