The Cobbers are now 21-6 on the season which is the most wins in a single season since the 1990-91 season. Concordia will play in the conference championship for the first time since the inception of the tournament for the 2000-01 season. St. Ben's finishes their season with an overall mark of 21-5, and is still looking for their first conference tournament championship.
Pearson scored 17 points in the first half, going 3-for-4 from 3-point range and 7-for-9 from the floor. In the final 20 minutes she scored 12 points and hit two clutch 3-point shots late in the game. Annie Keeley was the only other Concordia player in double figures. Keeley finished with 12 points. Karie Visness added nine points and Debbie Slack collected a team-high nine rebounds in limited action due to foul trouble.
Kim Johnson led the charge for the Blazers. She ended the game with 17 points, and was one of three St. Ben's players in double figures. Anna Heikenen added 15 points and Darby Noreen chipped in 11.
Concordia moves on in the MIAC tournament to play the second-seeded Carleton Knights on Saturday, February 28 at 3:00pm. The time of the game was changed from the league's original schedule of 7:30pm. The winner of the championship game will earn the league's automatic berth into the NCAA
Tournament. The game against the Knights can be heard live on KVOX 1280AM in the Fargo-Moorhead area and worldwide over the internet at www.gocobbers.com.
