York (N.Y.) 58, Baruch 50

Jamaica, NY (January 21, 2004) - — Baruch Fall To York 58-50 in CUNYAC Women's Action

The Baruch (6-8, 4-3) women's basketball team lost on Wednesday night by the score of 58-50 to York (6-9, 4-3) in a CUNYAC league game played in Jamaica, Queens.

Tashana Watson led the hosts York with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Kimberly Keene added 11 points and grabbed a game-high 18 rebounds.

Baruch point guard Diane Ramirez led the way for the Bearcats with 16 points. Jessenia Marrero scored 15 points and Cathy Gonzalez added nine points.

Baruch trailed early in the game by the score of 23-9 and entered halftime with a nine-point (28-19) deficit.

They began the second half on a good run and briefly took the lead before the home side rallied back for the eight-point victory. The loss was the second consecutive conference loss for the women.

They will look to get back on the winning track when they host NYC Tech on Saturday in the ARC Arena. Tip off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
