Dickinson 75, Washington College 62

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Dickinson College withstood a second-half rally by host Washington College and pulled away late for a 75-62 win over the Shorewomen in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game this evening at Cain Athletic Center.

The Red Devils (9-6, 6-4 Centennial) led 32-22 at the break, but the Shorewomen (4-13, 2-10) opened the second half with a 14-4 run to knot the score at 36-36 on a three-pointer by senior guard Katie Piringer (with 13:23 remaining. Washington tied the score three more times, the final time at 53-53 with 5:37 left, but could never take the lead. The Shorewomen were still within two points, trailing 57-55, with 3:53 to go, but the Red Devils closed the game on an 18-7 run. Dickinson converted 13-of-16 free throws in the final 1:25 of the contest.

Allyson Teatom came off the bench to lead the Red Devils with game highs of 21 points and 20 rebounds in 28 minutes. Teatom was five-of-11 from the floor and 11-of-14 at the line. Eight of her rebounds were on the offensive end. Piper Etess also notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Megan Shelley and Christine Giordano added 14 and 10 points, respectively. Julie Younes tallied nine points and a game-high seven steals.

Senior guard Karen Simos led the Shorewomen with a game-high 21 points and converted five-of-seven three-point field goal attempts. Senior guard Yianna Patronas added 16 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high four assists. Freshman guard LaToya Turner contributed a career-high 14 points and a career- and team-high eight rebounds.
