Baltimore, MD, (November 20, 2004) – Senior Alyssa Antolick (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) scored a team-high 16 points including the 1,000th of her career to lead the DeSales University women’s basketball team to a 75-66 win in its 2004-05 season opener at the Johns Hopkins University Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Antolick became the 14th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. Sophomore Kirby Lutz (Easton, PA/Pen Argyl) and senior Holly Liebl (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown) each added double-doubles in the Bulldogs (1-0 overall) win as the women won its 18th straight game on a neutral court.

Leading by seven, 51-44, the Bulldogs went on a 16-5 run over a seven minute span to take a commanding 67-49 lead with just over eight minutes left to play. Six different Bulldogs scored during the run with Antolick tallying four markers.

Liebl finished the game with 15 points and 13 rebounds for her fifth career double-double and Lutz added 10 points and 12 caroms for her second career double-double.
