The two teams traded leads in the early part of the first half until Judson built up a seven point advantage at 25-18. Elmhurst trimmed the deficit to five points at 25-20 right before halftime.
The Bluejays started the second half on an 8-2 run to reclaim the lead. The two teams traded baskets back and forth for the next 14 minutes as neither team could build up a lead of over two points. The Bluejays were able to finally build a six point advantage after a pair of free throws from Candice Sutton.
Judson responded with an 10-4 run to knot the score at 53-53 with just over a minute remaining. After a Bluejay turnover, Judson's Kim Watson scored the go-ahead basket with seven seconds remaining to give Judson the win.
Elmhurst was led by 19 points from Aja Terrier. She also collected six rebounds. Sutton and Vicky Miner each finished with eight points while Heather Furr scored seven points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Judson was led Watson's 15 points and 10 rebounds.
As a team, the Bluejays shot 34.9 percent from the floor (22-of-63) while Judson shot 36.1 percent (22-of-61).
