Cornell 116, MacMurray 99JACKSONVILLE, Il. — The MacMurray College men's basketball team are still working on their new run and shoot offense and came up a litte short against Cornell College of Iowa today 116-99. They fell to 1-3 on the year and will be home on Monday to face Robert MOrris of Springfield. Renaldo McIntosh led the Highlanders in scoring with 28, Compton had 13 and Robinson 10 but they couldn't stop Cornell's offense. Brent McDonal had another good game with 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Whalum recorded 9 points and Downham 8 as MacMurray put up 93 shots on the day. Cornell had 4 players in double figures as Ecker hit for 36, McClanaham 25, Halac 12 and Pederson 11 as they improved to 2-2 on the season. The Highlanders forced 25 turnovers, had 12 steals and turned it over 13 times themselves, but it wasn't enough. They committed 37 fouls and sent Cornell to the line for 49 shots while only shooting 14. They lost by 17 but were out scored at the charity stripe 35-7 so they will continue to tweak this new offensive scheme.
