The Bluejays never trailed in the game en route to the win. After taking a 7-3 lead, the Bluejays opened up a 13-2 run to grab a 15-point advantage at 20-5. After Aurora closed the gap to 27-16 with three minutes to play in the half, the Bluejays responded by scoring the half's final nine points to carry a 36-16 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Elmhurst scored the first nine points in the second half to push its lead up to 29 points at 45-16. The Bluejays pushed their lead to as many as 30 points with Aurora coming no closer than a 22-point deficit the rest of the way.
For the game, Elmhurst shot 42 percent from the floor (29-of-69) and 36 percent from 3-point range (9-of-25). The Bluejays hit 12-of-20 attempts from the free throw line (60 percent).
Aurora finished the game shooting 30.4 percent (17-of-56) from the floor and 15.4 percent (2-of-13) from beyond the arc. The Spartans hit 14-of-23 free throw attempts (60.9 percent).
Heather Furr led the way with 15 points and six rebounds while Aja Terrier added 10 points. Monica Rice came off the bench to score 10 points while Brittany Bobruk added nine points off the bench. Vicky Miner narrowly missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Kisha Miller and Beth Pulcinski led Aurora with 10 points apiece. Pulcinski pulled down a team-high nine rebounds.
