The Boxers (3-6), who led by as much as 11 points in the first half, used clutch free throws in the final minute by Sara Harsin and Trisha Terhar to break a 73-73 tie and edge out the victory.
Harsin led the Boxers with 16 points and three steals. Amy Pedersen connected for 15 and DeeDee Arnall added 14 as she saw her game limited to 18 minutes of action. Kristina Stevens led the Boxers with nine rebounds as Pacific held a 44-31 edge on the boards.
Autumn Metzger led Meredith (1-4) with 23 points, connecting on seven three-pointers. Nicole Hall added 17 and Amira Issa had 10.
After Arnall single-handedly put the Boxers ahead 5-0 in the first two minutes, her teammates followed with a 54 percent shooting performance in the half. Stevens' jumper with 14:16 left put Pacific ahead 16-6 and Arnall's free throw a minute later put the Boxers up by 11.
The Boxers led by 10 much of the half, but watched as Meredith went on a 10-2 to close out the half. Metzger's three-pointer with 38 seconds left closed the gap to two as the Boxers went into the half with a 34-323 lead.
The Angels took their only lead of the game on Nicole Miller's three-pointer just a minute into the second half. The game stayed tight most of the way until a pair of Shannon Janes free throws and a three-pointer from Kami Shigematsu gave the Boxers a 60-453 lead with 7:44 to go.
Meredith again closed the game to within one down the stretch and knotted the game at 73-73 on Metzger's three-pointer with 2:19 to go. Turnovers and missed shots, however, allowed Pacific to secure the lead for good. A foul by Whitney Collins put Harsin at the line, who connected on one of two shots. Hall then missed a jumper with 31 seconds left, allowing Terhar to hit two free throws to close it.
