The Eagles trailed 13-12 with 14:32 remaining in the first half before going on a 9-0 run to lead 21-13 with 13:04 left. Occidental cut the lead to 33-26 with 4:04 remaining in the first half, but UW-L finished the half on a 9-2 run to lead 42-28 at halftime.
UW-L, ranked 19th on D3hoops.com, opened the second half on a 12-2 run and led 54-30 with 15:30 left. The Tigers could get no closer than 20 points the rest of the game and the Eagles led by as many as 35.
Katy Searing led UW-L with 19 points, finishing nine-of-12 from the field and one-of-three at the free throw line. She also had six rebounds. Nicole Palmer added 17 points, hitting two-of-five three-point field goals. Ashley Wagner finished with a career-high 10 assists for the Eagles and Mackenzie Hunter had a game-high seven rebounds.
UW-L shot 51.5% from the field, including 45.5% (five-of-11) from three-point range. The Eagles were nine-of-14 (64.3%) at the line.
Stacie Roshon led Occidental with 11 points. The Tigers shot 35.1% from the field, including 22.2% (four-of-18) from three-point range. The team was three-of-five (60.0%) at the free throw line.
