NEW LONDON, N.H. — The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team opened the game with a 19-4 run and held Wentworth without a jumper for the first 7:54 as the Chargers eased their way to an 82-42 win on Saturday afternoon in New London. The Chargers moved to 12-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference and 17-5 overall, while Wentworth falls to 9-13, 5-10 in the CCC.

Colby-Sawyer held Wentworth to just 18 percent shooting for the game, as the Leopards made just 13 shots from the field, and none of their eight three-point attempts. Colby-Sawyer, meanwhile, shot 45 percent from the floor and 31 percent from beyond the three-point line.

Kristen Sorensen (Coventry, Conn.) led all scorers with 21 points for the Chargers, while Stacey Hildreth (Winchester, N.H.) had 12 points, all in the second half, and Amy Beaton (Haverhill, Mass.) added 10.

Emily Cring (Cicero, N.Y.) led Wentworth with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Cheyenne Noble (Murrysville, Pa.) had 12 points and 13 boards.

Colby-Sawyer closes out the regular season home schedule on Tuesday when the Chargers host New England College in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match up. Tuesday's game will begin at 5:30 p.m. in New London.
