With the win, Chicago (14-8 overall, 7-4 UAA) moved into a tie for third place in the league standings, one game behind co-leaders Brandeis and Washington (Mo.).
Chicago took the lead for good at the 7:07 mark of the first half when a three-point basket by Korry Schwanz gave the Maroons a 16-14 advantage. Chicago built a 32-22 lead at the break .
Emory (7-14, 3-8) cut the Maroons' lead to seven points, 47-40, with 7:37 left in the contest, but the Maroons outscored the Eagles 18-3 the rest of the way.
With her 16 points and 11 rebounds, Gutowski registered her UAA-leading ninth double-double of the year. She also collected three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot.
Janae Winner and Nicaya Rapier scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Rapier also pulled down eight boards as the Maroons held a 44-32 rebounding edge.
Lynn Oberschmidt and MacKenzie Bisset paced Emory with 14 points each.
