Lancaster Bible 90, Notre Dame (Md.) 82

LANCASTER, Pa. — College of Notre Dame of Maryland junior Monica Cherry (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin High School) scored a career-high 29 points, but Lancaster Bible College beat the Gators, 90-82, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match-up.

Cherry was 11-of-17 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range to beat her previous best of 21 points against Wilson College her freshman year.

Lancaster Bible (12-10), however, shot 48-percent from the field (32-of-67) and 47-percent from 3-point range (9-of-19). Theresa Johnson scored 34, and Nicole Cooper had 29 for the Crusaders.

Sophomore Catherine Vecchioni (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall High School) scored 16 points and had 17 rebounds for the Gators (9-16), and senior Brynn Miscavige (Weatherly, Pa./Marian Catholic High School) added 10.

The Gators host Trinity University in the Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference Quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at 7 p.m.
