Bethel 72, St. Olaf 68

NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The St. Olaf women's basketball team fell to the Bethel University Royals 72-68 Wednesday at St. Paul, Minn.
The Oles led 29-27 at the half and had as much as a five point lead in the second. With 3:27 left to play, Bethel countered St. Olaf's efforts with a 7-0 run and held onto their lead until the end.
The Oles had ten turnovers, and Bethel was 10-of-19 from three.
Jen Ahlberg led the Royals with 27 points on the game, while Ole Christina Sampson (So.) had 16 points, making three of four from the arc.
Heather Davis and Bridget Webber of Bethel had 16 and 12 points for the game, while St. Olaf's Holly Grimsrud (So.,) and Molly Simon (Sr.) had 14 and 11. Simon also had eight assists and no turnovers, while Bethel's Emily Uzpen contributed nine assists.
St. Olaf becomes 1-4 MIAC; Bethel 3-2 in the conference.
The Oles host the University of St. Thomas Saturday at 1pm.
