Indianola, Iowa — Simpson (9-2, 2-0 IIAC) forced 49 Wartburg (5-5, 0-2 IIAC) turnovers as the Storm rolled to a 86-45 Iowa Conference womens' basketball victory Thursday night in Indianola. Simpson tied the school record for most steals in a game with 33 (previously set against Loras Dec. 1, 1998). Storm point guard

Dana Johnson broke the school record for most steals in a game with 10 (the old mark was shared by three players, most recently set by Casey Spree against Wartburg Feb. 16, 2001). Johnson, a junior from Zearing, Iowa (Colo-Nesco H.S.) also added a career high seven assists. This was only her fifth career varsity start.

The Storm saw four players score in double figures, led by Heather Kay who scored 14 points and made four steals. Katelyon Whiton posted 13 points. Ashley Bogaards charted 12 points. Whiton and Bogaards combined to shoot 12-14 from the floor. Ashley Hansen had 11.

Wartburg outrebounded the Storm 47-33, but Simpson held the Knights to just five field goals and 20 percent shooting in the second half (5-20). Wartburg's 6-4 senior center Amanda Berner scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and blocked seven shots. Casey Huber was the Knights' leading scorer with 13 points.
