YANKTON, S.D. — The Buena Vista University women's basketball team earned their 8th win of the season with a hard fought 71-65 victory over Mount Marty College. Kristina Kapler led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds. Katie Maguire added 14 points with five assists and Tracy Hartwig chipped in with 10 points to give the Beavers three players in double figures.

The Lancers of Mount Marty held a 38-37 advantage on the boards, with 17 of them coming on the offensive end. The Beavers were very effective offensively with assists coming on 22 of their 27 baskets.

With the win the Beavers improved to 8-1 on the season while Mount Marty dropped to 9-7 overall. The Beavers are back in action on Saturday, January 8th when they host the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan at Siebens Fieldhouse at 3:00 PM.
