Marrero, a junior guard/forward from Francis Lewis High School in Queens, NY, went over the 1,000th point mark with 13:24 remaining in the second half when she scored on a three-pointer to give Baruch a 50-26 lead.
She also became the sixth player in women's team history to score 1,000 or more career points.
Head Coach Machli Joseph called a time out after her clinching basket to allow her teammates and friends to congratulate her on the accomplishment.
Marrero finished the game with a team-high 20 points and currently owns a total of 1,004 points.
Baruch (10-2, 4-1 CUNYAC) trailed early in the first half by the score of 12-5, but took control the rest of the way with a 28-8 run to enter the intermission leading York College (2-9, 1-3 CUNYAC) by the score of 33-20.
The lead increased to as much as 28 points during the second half as every player saw significant action in the home conference win.
Desiree Patton scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for York.
Baruch will immediately return to the court tomorrow night with a tough non-conference road game in Massachusetts against Fitchburg State (9-2). Tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
