Berglund set the tone early scoring the games first basket on a lay-up just seconds into the game and went on to hit nine more from the field.
The first half was a see saw affair as there were six ties in the first 20 minutes, the last at 24-24 with 7:38 to go before the half.
Annika Bergman gave UMM a two point lead at 26-24 with a pair of free throws and then another Berglund lay-up put Minnesota-Morris up 28-24 with seven minutes left in the opening frame.
The Cougars were able to stretch the lead to six a couple of times later in the half and led 41-40 as the teams headed into the locker room.
The second half was very similar to the first half, but this time for the first 16 minutes of the second half, the Cougars found themselves behind.
But Crown was never able to build a lead larger than five points at 56-51 at the 8:22 mark of the half as the Cougars stayed close and poised to make their comeback.
And come back they came.
The Cougars outscored the Storm 28-15 over the final eight minutes of the game, keyed in large part to good defense and clutch shooting.
Danielle Mercurio gave UMM their first lead of the second half at 70-67 as she hit from long range with 3:20 left in the second half.
After the Storm tied the game at 71-71 with 1:51 left, Nikita Warren hit a pair of free throws to put the Cougars back in front, this time for good, at 73-71. Warren scored six of the Cougars last eight points in the game.
Warren followed that a short time later with a steal and a lay-up that gave UMM a 75-71 lead and then with just 19 ticks left on the clock, nailed two more from the line to push the lead to 77-71 and seal the win.
After struggling from the field in a pair of UAMC road losses last week, the Cougars shot 45 percent (27-60) from the field, including shooting 49 percent (17-35) in the first half.
Malinda Berglund was six for six in the first half and connected on all four shot attempts in the second haf to finish with a game high 23.
The previous single game shooting record was set by Kathy Heuer during the 1993-94 season when she went eight for eight against St. Scholstica.
Annika Bergman tied a career high with 12 points and Nikita Warren tied a career high with five steals and added three assists.
The Cougars committed just 11 turnovers in the game, second fewest this season.
