Leading 16-13 the Crusaders went on a 12-0 run to build their lead to 15 points (28-13) when senior forward Eric Rosenbeck hit a jumper with 9:09 left in the first half. The Polar Bears battled back to make the score 38-29 as the teams headed to the lockers.
Halfway thru the second half the Crusaders built the lead back up to 16 points, leading 52-36. Ohio Northern would then on a 12-0 run to cut the Crusaders' lead to 52-48 with 6:28 left in the game. Capital then would end the game on a 13-8 run to earn the 65-56 victory.
Johnson lead four Crusaders in double-figures as senior guard David Kalb had 13 points, senior forward Jake Beck scored 11 points and freshman forward Jake Meisler finished with 10 points.
Nate Lieb paced the Polar Bears with a game-high 24 points.
Following the win, the Crusaders improve to 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the OAC, while the Polar Bears fall to 6-7 and 3-4 in the conference
The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday when they host Wilmington College at 7:30 p.m. in The Capital Center
