Concordia-Moorhead 78, St. Thomas 74

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Concordia-Moorhead used an 8-1 run in the final 33 seconds of regulation to force overtime, and outlasted host St. Thomas 78-74 in MIAC women's basketball play Monday on UST's floor.

Senior guard Mandy Pearson had 25 points, including a 3-pointer with 27 seconds to go and a tying layup with12 seconds left. She also assisted on Jamie Visness' 3-point basket with 20 second left that cut the lead to 67-66. UST's Amy Kittelson made one of two free throws for a 68-66 lead.

The Toms (5-8 overall, 3-6 MIAC), who built a 14-point lead with 12:00 to play, missed a potential winning shot with :05 to go.

In overtime, Jamie Visness was 4-of-4 in free throws in the last 35 seconds for the Cobbers (8-4, 6-3).

For UST, Erica Opdahl had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Molly Miller had 16 points and nine rebounds. The Toms shot 56% in the first half en route to a 35-27 halftime lead.

Jamie Visness had 17 points and eight rebounds for the Cobbers, who shot 27% in the first half and 38% on the game.
