STORM LAKE, Iowa — The Buena Vista women's basketball team defeated Coe College 77-60 in an Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match-up on Wednesday at Siebens Fieldhouse. Kelli Staley's 17-point and nine-rebound performance led the Beavers to their 29th straight home victory.

Staley's jumper seven seconds into the game gave Buena Vista a lead it would never relinquish. The Beavers held a commanding 45 to 30 rebounding edge and held the advantage in nearly every statistical category.

Coe's Holly Zimmerman led all scorers with 20 points on eight of 18 shooting. LaToshia Burrell came off the Kohawk bench to net 13 points. Coe shot 25 of 61 from the floor for 41 percent.

Jess Griggs and Kristina Kapler contributed 14 and 13 points respectively for the 22nd ranked Beavers. Katie Maguire added seven points, seven assists, and four steals for Buena Vista. The Beavers, who beat Coe for the sixth straight time, shot 29 of 63 from the field for 46 percent.

Buena Vista next travels to Central College on Saturday. Coe will host Simpson College the same day.
