Baruch 63, St. Joseph's (Maine) 49

Purchase, NY — Freshman guard Chiresse Paradise scored a game-high 28 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and notched three steals to lead Baruch (13-3, 6-1 CUNYAC) to a 63-49 win over St. Joseph’s of Maine in the first round of the Castle Classic Tournament hosted by Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY on Saturday afternoon.

The game was tied at 43 in the second half, but Baruch went on an 18-5 run to go on to the non-conference victory and advance to the final tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. against the hosts Manhattanville (defeated Medgar Evers earlier in the day).

Diane Ramirez also led the Baruch attack with 16 points, five assists, and three steals, while Racquel Reid added seven points and five rebounds.

St. Joseph’s record drops to 7-7 overall, and they will face Medgar Evers in the consolation game tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m.
