KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Lou DeCarlo buried the go-ahead 3-point field goal with 1:52 remaining in Tuesday night's contest at Liebertz Gymnasium, while fellow Pennsylvania native Joe Hart followed suit with a trifecta of his own 65 seconds later, leading the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's basketball team to a 58-54 non-conference win over visiting CCNY.

The host Mariners (9-7), who won their final non-conference game of the regular season, saw the visiting Beavers (5-13) rip off a 10-0 run to go ahead 45-41 with 7:48 remaining in the contest. The teams traded a pair of baskets apiece, before DeCarlo buried a "3-ball" with 3:33 to knot the game at 49-49.

CCNY's Darryl France put the visitors up with a lay-in on his team's next possession, making the score 51-49. USMMA's Josh Buck (team-high 12 points) then buried one free throw with 2:51 to go, setting up DeCarlo and Hart's back-to-back three-pointers.

After the Beavers made the first basket of the game, Kings Point led for the rest of the first half. The Mariners got up by as many as 10 points (29-19) on a Paul Tricarico lay-in with 2:52 to go in the frame. However, CCNY scored the final four points of the half to make USMMA's halftime advantage a 29-23 score.

Hart went 3-for-6 from 3-point range en route to 11 points, while DeCarlo had eight points and was 3-for-5 from the field.

James Boddie (game-high 14 points), France (13 points) and Robert Barker (10 points) all scored in double figures for CCNY.
