Westminster (Mo.) 82, MacMurray 49

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — The MacMurray women played a good first half against the taller Bluejays in Fulton, Mo. last night but the second half belonged to Westminster as they posted an 82-49 win. The half-time score was 31-30 but the Bluejays started the second half with a 17-2 run and basically put the game away. The host school had 8 players in the scoring column and 5 of those had double figures, so the well balanced attack was too much for MacMurray to keep up with. Ernst and McMurtry each scored 11 for the Highlanders but it wasn't enough. The Highlanders only hit 1-8 from long range and the Bluejays were 7-14 as Glenn led the way with a 4-6 effort. While MacMurray stayed close in board work, the Bluejays had 20 assists to only 3 for the Highlanders as they controlled the pace of the game. It was an impressive outing for Westminster as they improve to 4-2 in the SLIAC and 11-5 over all. MacMurray will be home to face Blackburn at 1:00 on Saturday.
