In a game that featured 12 lead changes, NYU (2-0) took the lead for good on junior Sara Rabinovitch's layup with 1:21 remaining.
After a missed three-pointer by Farmingdale's Rochelle Clark, Violet freshman Jessica McEntee hit two free throws with 46 seconds left to give NYU a 63-60 lead.
Following a turnover by Clark, junior Karen Bachman hit a free throw with 13 seconds remaining to provide the final margin.
Farmingdale (1-1) took a four-point halftime lead, 32-28, and still led by four, 57-53, with 4:43 left in the game.
However, an 11-3 game-ending run for NYU secured the victory.
Bachman and Rabinovitch each scored career highs, netting 19 and 17, respectively, while adding 11 rebounds each. McEntee added nine points and eight rebounds.
Kristen Tong led the Rams with 16 points. I'shawna West and Clark added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Rabinovitch was selected Tournament MVP, while Bachman and West were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Rounding out the All-Tournament Team were Mercedes Miller of Farmingdale, Katie Marcella of SUNY-Brockport and Ashley Flaherty of FDU-Florham.
FDU-Florham defeated SUNY-Brockport in the Third-Place Game 75-61.
