Poultney, VT — Timothy Munch (Blauvelt, NY/Storm King Prep) scored 34 points to lead Division II Franklin Pierce of New Hampshire to an 83-57 win over Baruch in the Championship game of the Green Mountain Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday afternoon.

The Bearcats (1-1) got as close as 68-52 during the second half, but Franklin Pierce (2-0) responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Louie Karis (Brooklyn, NY/ Xaverian) scored 17 points and was named to the all-tournament team.

Freshman forward George Kunkel (Queens, NY/Archbishop Molloy) recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Baruch will return to action this Tuesday evening with a non-conference road game at Yeshiva University. Tip off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
