Luther 75, Bethany Lutheran 46

WAVERLY, Iowa — Twelve different players scored as Luther crushed Bethany Lutheran 75-46 during the second day of action at the 2005 Wartburg Tip-off Classic held Nov. 19-20.

Melissa O'Brien and Blair Ernst led the Norse with 10 points each. Jacki Miller and Christina Gaard were next with nine points, while Anne Straate and Kylie Bestul were credited with eight and seven points respectively.

Luther held Bethany Lutheran to 18 field goals and a shooting percentage of 38 percent. Luther led at halftime 43-17 and forced Bethany Lutheran into 39 turnovers. Luther also set a school record with 31 steals.The old mark of 23 was set in 2004 against Central College.

Danielle Dunnwald set a school record with nine steals. She broke the old mark of eight, set by Joni Ross in 1989 and Steph Jacobs, who tied the record in 1992.
