UW-Whitewater, coached by former Blue Devil assistant Keri Carollo, defeated UW-Stevens Point, 65-61, to give Stout a half game lead in the WIAC.
Back in Superior, the Yellowjackets (4-17, 0-13) mounted a comeback from the free throw line, dropping in 27-of-33 free throws for the game, 14-of-18 in the second half.
The Blue Devils (15-7, 10-4) countered with their entire entourage. Kelsey Duoss scored 16 points to lead Stout and Lindsey Geissler dropped in 12. Savanah Oeltjen and Char Edwards came off the bench to score 12 and 11 points respectively. Molly Hendricks added 10 points.
The Yellowjackets leading scorer, Katie Moench, was again the leading scorer, dropping in 27 points, 15 coming from the line. Jenny Carlson added 17 points and Ashley Laidley finished with 12 points.
