The game was a back and forth battle as Lehman and Baruch both exchanged leads early before the Lightning opened up a ten point lead. Both teams battled before a 8-0 run capped off by an Ally Stamiatdes jumper cut the lead to two, as Lehman entered the half with a 24-22 lead.
The two teams exchanged leads throughout the second half, with Paradise converting on one of two foul shots with 6.4 seconds remaining. As the final seconds ticked off, a controversial traveling call against Lehman freshman Sally Nnamani prevented the Lightning from getting an attempt at a game tying shot.
For Lehman, sophomore Maria Loor led the Lightning with 19 points to go along with 18 rebounds, while fellow classmates Tiara Carroll had 11 points to go along with 15 rebounds, and Kimberly Kelly had 15 points. Nnamani finished with 11 points.
Lehman will now prepare for the upcoming CUNY championships at College of Staten Island, where they will be the #5 seed in the tournament.
