Maria Loor (Queens, NY/Newton) scored a layup at 11:38 of the opening half to cut Baruch's lead to 13-12, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the way.
Baruch outscored the Lightning the rest of the half, 21-9, for a 34-21 lead at the break. They carried the momentum to start the second half with a 19-4 run to lead 53-25 with 9:58 left. The lead grew on several occasions to 30 points before closing with the final 68-42.
The Bearcats (7-4, 4-0 CUNYAC) were led by Jessenia Marrero (Flushing, NY/Francis Lewis) with 14 points (4-5, 3FG), Ally Stamatiades (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) with 13 points, and Racquel Reid (Bronx, NY/Washington Irving) with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Lehman (3-8, 1-3 CUNYAC) was led by Katherine Santiago (Washington Heights, NY/Norman Thomas) with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Lehman struggled all evening shooting 21 percent (13-61), while the Bearcats shot 36 percent (23-64).
Baruch will be in action this Sunday with a non-conference road against DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
