The Blue Devils (8-6, 3-3) were playing without leading scorer Kelsey Duoss, who was part of a family wedding, but even Duoss may not have been enough to push Stout over the running Pointers.
The Pointers (11-4, 4-2) ran out to a 10-0 lead before Stout put in a bucket at the 12:01 mark on two free throws by Joanna Bird and went on to lead by as much as 33 points over the course of the game. The Pointers took a double-digit, 16-2 lead but Stout did cut it to eight points, 16-8, a minute later. Stevens Point did not let that happen again. Once they hit double digits with nine minutes left in the first half, it was off to the races.
Cassandra Schultz scored 11 first half points and Becky Pepper came off the bench to score nine before the break for the Pointers. Schultz finished the game with 20 points and doubled her pleasure with 10 rebounds. Pepper scored a career-high 17 points for the game. Chelsea Krenz added 11 points.
The Blue Devils managed only two players in double digits, and no one else was even close. Molly Hendricks tossed in 12 points and Bird finished with 11.
Stout shot 32 percent for the game from the floor (22-of-68) and 62 percent from the line (16-of-26). The Pointers nailed 53 percent of their shots from the floor (32-of-61) and 78 percent from the line (29-of-37). Stout was outrebounded, 50-37.
