Baruch 70, York (N.Y.) 36

Jamaica, N.Y. — The Baruch women's basketball team ended the first half with a 34-3 run on their way to a 70-36 conference win over York on Wednesday night in Jamaica, New York.

The Bearcats (8-5, 5-0 CUNYAC) trailed early, 8-7, four minutes into the game, but dominated the rest of the way to stay undefeated atop the CUNYAC North Division Conference.

York (2-11, 2-3 CUNYAC) struggled shooting just 4-of-42 in the opening half of play.

Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, IL/Rich Central) had a double-double in the first half with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and finished the game 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Jessenia Marrero (Flushing, NY/Francis Lewis) scored 15 points (3-5, 3fg) and dished out five assists.

J.R. LaFontaine (Richmond, CA/Deanza) had her finest game of the season with a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Baruch will return to action on Friday with conference home game against City Tech. Tip off in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
