Lehman 59, York (N.Y.) 46

Queens, NY — Freshman Sally Nnamani scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds as Lehman College fought off a valiant York College comeback to defeat the Cardinals 59-46 in CUNY conference play.

Lehman (2-4 CUNY) held a 26-23 halftime advantage, before using a stiffling defense to open up a commanding twenty-six point lead with 4:25 remaining. After several substitutions, the Cardinals went on a 14-0 run to cut the Lehman lead to ten, but that is as close as they would get.

Lehman also received solid play from sophomore center Maria Loor. Loor, scored 12 points while pulling down a team high 12 rebounds and junior Kathy Santiago scored eleven points for Lehman.

Senior guard Jenny Deida led York College with 24 points to go along with seven steals for the Cardinals.

Up next for Lehman is a conference match-up with Brooklyn College, this Wednesday at the APEX Arena. The game is a 5pm start, and will be broadcast regionally on Bronx Net TV.
