Purchase, N.Y. — Jessenia Marrero (Flushing, N.Y./Francis Lewis) scored 15 points and dished out six assists to lead the Bearcats to a 70-50 non-conference road win against Manhattanville on Monday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The Bearcats (10-5) took control early by building a 24-12 advantage with 7:28 left in the first half. They increased the lead to 38-25 at halftime behind eight points apiece from Marrero and Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, III./Rich Central).

The team kept up the momentum in the second half by leading by as much as 70-43 with 2:39 left in the game.

The Bearcats defense limited Manhattanville to 33 percent (17-51) shooting.

Paradise finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Racquel Reid (Bronx, N.Y./Washington Irving) scored nine points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Olivia Nastasi (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring) led the Valiants (3-10) with 14 points.

Baruch will resume action this Wednesday with a tough non-conference battle against the College of Staten Island. Tip off at C.S.I. is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
