WPI led from wire to wire as Emily Allietta (Sandwich, MA) tallied the first seven Engineer points. In addition to Krasko’s game-high 13 points and Macko’s 10, Meghan Pajonas (Southlake, TX), Sarah Doyon (Nashua, NH) and Allietta each added eight points. Pajonas paced all players with 12 rebounds on the evening.
WPI was able to put the game out of reach early in the second half when they used a 8-0 run to open up a 42-29 lead with 12:49 remaining. The spurt was highlighted by three Krasko jump shots.
Kristin Doeberl (West Redding, CT) topped all Wellesley scorers with 11 points while Catherine Romasco (Sutton, MA) and Laura Weslander (Mendota Heights, MN) each chipped in with 10. The Blue, who trailed 31-25 at the intermission, received eight rebounds each from Weslander and Sefi Adasi (Rockville, MD).
WPI is off until Saturday when they will travel to Northampton to face Smith. Wellesley also returns to action on Saturday as they host Clark.
