Newbury responded to the adversity, with both sophomore shooting guard Archie Mitchell (Framingham, MA/Framingham) and junior point-guard Steven Morris (Somerville, MA/Somerville) each hitting clutch 3-pointers to get Newbury within a point at 45-44, but in the end it wasn’t enough as Clark survived the late surge.
The Cougars were led by senior center Tim Dutille (Sunapee, NH/Lebanon) who had a game 22 points, with 13 of them coming in the second half, while classmate Cory Szklarz (Worcester, MA/St. Peter Marian) chipped in with 12 points on the night. The Nighthawks were led by sophomore Walky Magloire (Waltham, MA) who scored 11 points, while senior captain Matt Stanton (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield) also hit in double figures with 10.
