Baruch 66, Medgar Evers 54

New York, N.Y. — Baruch won their fifth straight game with a 66-54 home conference win against Medgar Evers on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The win keeps the team undefeated in conference play at 8-0.

Sophomore guard Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, III./Rich Central) led the way with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with seven assists, four steals, and two blocks.

Sophomore guard Naesha Tyler-Moore (Matteson, III./Rich Central) came off the bench to score 15 points, while junior center Racquel Reid (Bronx, N.Y./Washington Irving) added seven points, nine rebounds, and two steals.

Senior guard Jessenia Marrero (Flushing, N.Y./Francis Lewis) scored six points to increase her career total to 1,404 points, which is currently second-best in team history. She scored her 1,400th career point with a lay up at the 16:11 mark of the first half.

The Bearcats (12-5, 8-0 CUNYAC) defense notched 18 steals and limited the Cougars to shooting 32 percent (23-73). They also led by as much as 22 points with 14:40 remaining.

Medgar Evers (8-10, 4-4 CUNYAC) received 17 points and 10 rebounds from freshman forward Nisha Haire (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson).

Baruch will host King's Point this upcoming Tuesday in a non-conference game in the ARC Arena. Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
