The Beavers pushed the lead to 11, 54-43, with 18:43 remaining in regulation, but Simpson battled back, tying the score at 64 on a Katelyn Whiton layup at the 7:40 mark. A pair of Dana Johnson free throws 35 seconds later, put the Storm into the lead for the first time in the game. Simpson got the lead up to six, 74-68, with 2:27 to go in regulation, but BV tied the score at 75 when Maguire hit a jumper with five seconds to go. Simpson did not call timeout as Johnson, the Storm point guard, pushed the ball up the floor. Her field goal attempt failed, sending the game into overtime.
Simpson scored the first six points of overtime and pushed the lead up to 87-77 when Sarah Pearson made a layup with 1:41 left in the extra frame. Simpson's greatest lead of the overtime, 90-79, came with 1:19 to go on a pair of Johnson free throws. Griggs made a three-pointer with 75 seconds remaining. Johnson made 1-of-2 free throws with 1:07 to go to make it the final 91-82.
Whiton led the Storm with 20 points and eight rebounds. She also added three assists. Pearson was 6-for-10 from the floor on her way to a season high 14 points. Heather Kay scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Johnson scored 11 points and dished out a career high nine assists. She also blocked three shots.
Maguire led all scorers with 32 points. Griggs posted a double-double with 22 points and a game high 15 rebounds. Lindsey Meyer had 11.
