Junior center Bri Monahan added 16 points for the Gusties (13-4 overall, 11-3 MIAC), who avenged a December loss to UST and moved back within one game of MIAC leader Concordia.
The Gusties held the Toms to nine first-half points and their pressure contributed to 27 UST turnovers.
St. Thomas (9-9, 6-7) played most of the game without No. 2 leading scorer Jessica Katch, who left with an injury 5:00 into the game.
The Toms pulled within 38-28 with 7:08 to play but the Gusties answered with a 12-0 run over the next five minutes to lead 50-28.
Senior center Erica Opdahl had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Tommies, who outrebounded the Gusties 37-24 but shot only 25% from the field (9-of-36).
St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Augsburg (5:45 p.m.) and hosts St. Ben's on Saturday. Gustavus is at Carleton Wednesday night.
