Kalamazoo ends No. 2 Hope's winning streak
Kalamazoo's men ended three streaks with a 70-57 victory at Hope on Saturday. The Hornets ended their four-game losing streak, their five-game losing streak against Hope and Hope's 19-game winning streak.
Dave Dobbie led Kalamazoo (8-12, 3-6 MIAA) with 14 points, while Brad Phillips and Brian Ellison each added 13. Kalamazoo held Hope to 25% shooting from the field and its lowest point total of the season. The Flying Dutch (19-2, 8-1) were tied for No. 2 in Division III entering the game.
Saturday's win marked the second time in the past three seasons that the Hornets ended a long Hope win streak. Kalamazoo posted a 67-65 win in February 1996 to end a 23-game Hope winning streak.
