UW-Eau Claire had to wait a long time but saw its name revealed at the very end, as the last team listed on the bracket. Their SOS gets them in ahead of other teams on the bubble. From the Central Region, three WIAC teams made it as at-large picks alone, along with Wash U and Carthage.
And so the University of Rochester, which lost six of its last eight games but was still ranked No. 1 in the region on Wednesday, crashed and burned out of the field entirely. King's, which played one game against a regionally ranked team all season, and lost, makes the field. Colby was left out as well, with Messiah betting into the tournament.
Those were the variations from our projected bracket, which got 61 of 64 teams.
