Benedictine Men Win Battle of NACC Unbeatens

ROCKFORD, IL - The Benedictine University men's basketball team won an early battle of conference unbeatens on the road at Rockford Wednesday night.

The first 20 minutes were extremely close
Tied 7-7, Zach Gorney delivered a three-pointer as part of five straight for Benedictine
Gorney scored all five points in the spurt, making the score 12-7 with 15:14 remaining in the first half
Rockford utilized a 9-2 run to take a 21-17 advantage with 8:26 to go in the half
The hosts led 30-26 at the 3:31 mark but Benedictine closed the half on a 9-4 run to lead 37-34 at the break
Gorney splashed home a three-pointer in the closing seconds of the first to account for the margin
